We would like to inform you that the first manuscript of EU-VAP/CAP Study entitled “Spectrum of Practice in the Diagnosis of Nosocomial Pneumonia in Patients Requiring Mechanical Ventilation in European Intensive Care Units” has been published in the August issue of Critical Care Medicine (Epub ahead of print June 15th). The second manuscript of the study entitled “Combination antibiotic therapy with macrolides improves survival in patients with severe community-acquired pneumonia” has been submitted for publication and is under revision to the journal Intensive Care Medicine.
The third manuscript that focuses on the management of nosocomial pneumonia, entitled “Spectrum of Practice in Antibiotic Management of Intubated Patients with Pneumonia” has been submitted for publication and is under revision to the Journal of Antimicrobial Chemotherapy (JAC).
Also, one abstract will be presented in 49th ICAAC meeting, San Francisco, USA, 12-15.09.09 and two abstracts will be presented in 22nd ESICM Congress, Vienna, Austria, 11-14.10.09.

Finally, we have the pleasure of announcing that after the new application, the CAPUCI-2 Study has been endorsed by the European Critical Care Research Network of the European Society of Intensive Care Medicine.
